Data Usage Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026 · Early-access version

This is an early-access placeholder policy and will be replaced with a formal, counsel-reviewed version before public launch.

1. What We Collect

We keep it minimal:

2. How We Use It

We use this data to operate and improve Retro: keeping your account working, saving your avatar and inventory, fixing bugs, understanding which features people use, and occasionally communicating with you about the platform (announcements, security notices).

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data in limited cases: with service providers that help run Retro (for example, Discord — since membership purchases are currently handled manually by staff there), or if the law requires it.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies for sign-in sessions and basic preferences (like theme choice). We don't run third-party advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but signed-in features may stop working.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account (or ask us to), we remove your personal data within a reasonable time, keeping only what we need for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

6. Children's Privacy

Retro asks for your birthday at sign-up and is intended to be used by younger players only with a parent or guardian's permission. We collect the minimum needed to run the platform and don't knowingly use children's data for anything else. Parents and guardians can contact us to review or delete a child's data.

7. Your Rights & Contact

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion. During early access, the fastest way is to contact staff via the official Retro Discord server (placeholder invite — coming soon).

8. Changes to This Policy

As Retro grows this policy will be replaced with a formal version. We'll post noticeable updates on the site and refresh the "Last updated" date above.
